West Side Cruisers - Free Wheelers is an automotive club for those with interest in American cars and motorcycles. West Side Cruisers, short: WSC, is located at Rud in Baerum county, 10 miles west of Oslo, Norway. WSC is the largest American car club in the region, represented mainly by members from the two counties Asker and Baerum. 

West Side Cruisers was established June 15th 1981, originally consisting of twelve friends eager to worship their no.1 hobby: the American car. The words "Free Wheelers" have been included in the name to emphasise that this is a club where owners of any American car, and those who share the amcar hobby, are welcome to become members. Time has passed, now close to 30 years, and members have come and gone at WSC. Head count recently stopped at 60 members aged between 20 and 70 years. Age really doesn't matter, we're all enthusiasts, and that's what counts!

At first, meetings were arranged at members' homes, but as the amount of members increased, the need for larger facilities became apparent. In 1985, the "Bærumsungdommens Motorsenter" (= Baerum county youth's engineering center) was built. As early as during the initial planning stages, WSC was consulted on issues related to designing the center's workshop. Since then, WSC has spent nearly every Thursday evening at the center. We still meet there every Thursday around 7pm, utilizing the workshop with its service ramp, welding machine, tool cabinet and great opportunities to do a tune-up on your car. In addition, the building offers conference rooms and a large, recently refurbished livingroom where all the chatting and discussions take place. Naturally accompanied by waffles, a couple of Cokes and a few slices of cake. 

During the year, we arrange things like cruising, an annual WSC weekend camp, BBQs and a dinner party shortly before Christmas. During the summer holidays we try to gather the WSC members elsewhere for a little snack, some cruising or just to exchange some gossip.
